Welcome to Learning2drive

Want to learn to drive? You need a driving instructor.

There are some good ones in the panel to your right.

Want a web site for your driving school? You need a nerd.

And that's me, I'm a genuine nerd and I've got the bad skin to prove it. After 12 years programming computers for a living I fancied a change and took to driving instructing, but the nerd in me would not be quelled, and after a couple of years I wrote my own web site.

Guess what? It wasn't enough, no customers. Why? Not being found in the search engines.

Next step: Search Engine Optimisation. (Yes, it's a big enough subject to get its own Capital Letters.) What is SEO? Simply, getting search engines to like your site and feature it high up in their listings.

Try this: look in your favourite search engine for driving lessons in your town. Now go to page 10 of the results and you'll probably find a perfectly nice looking website belonging to Billy Nomates that never gets seen by anyone except Billy and his mum. Reason? No SEO.

Now go back to page 1 and see other perfectly nice looking driving school websites basking in the limelight and getting hundreds of visitors a month. Reason? SEO.

And that's what I offer. A perfectly nice looking web site with SEO, and it's easy, quick and cheap.

*Price is for an individual instructor or family firm (up to 3 instructors).

What you don't get

You don't get flashy graphics with me or any other gimmicks. No garish colours. No knock you on the head special effects. You don't even get a choice of 25 different layouts. You just get a web site that people want to find when they look for driving lessons. And what do they want? Information.

What you do get

A simple, elegant, minimalist website which loads quickly, in which people can easily find the information they seek. They want to know who you are, what you do, how and when you do it, and how much you charge. And you want them to find you, right? That's why you also get the miracle spice SEO.

How do I set up my driving school web site?

Setting it up is completely simple, you don't need to grapple with a web template or learn how to use a content management system, just email your words and pictures and everything is done for you. Just follow these steps:

1. Pick the sections you want

You can have up to 10 sections, all for the same price, and the more the better. Just have a look at the Sample Web Site and pick the ones you want; you will also see some ideas for what to put in each section. If you need something else, say a section on fleet driver training, you can have it, just say.

2. Pick your colour scheme

You can try the sample website in a variety of colour schemes, just pick the one you like. If you change your mind later don't worry, it's easy enough to change.

3. Write the words

The words and pictures on the site are yours and yours alone, so take the time to get them right. You need to sell yourself to your prospective customers, so remember what they came for and give them the who, what, how, when and how much.

4. Press send

Just email the section headings you want and the words for each section, any pictures of you or your car you want included, and your chosen colour scheme, and sit back.

Within a few days your new web site will be ready, and any last minute changes you want can be done then.

At any time in the future, if you want something changed just email it in, and it'll be done at no extra cost.

How much is it to set up and run the website?

Setting up is free, you only pay monthly by standing order starting one month from when the site goes live, and you only continue paying for as long as you want it, there is no minimum term. Think what that means. You can have your web site for two months, see how it works for you, and walk away if necessary, all for just one month's payment:

Continuing support is included, not just updates to your site when you need them, but week by week monitoring of your position in the search engines to keep those pupils coming in. All search engines change their algorithms from time to time, but you don't have to worry about that, I keep on top of it.
